Chapter 4 Overview

Chapter 4 is titled 'Equipment For General Use' and covers elements of an electrical system that facilitate final connections to utilization equipment, the equipment itself, and areas that contain the equipment. The purpose of this chapter is to prevent explosions, fires, electrical shocks and burns, electrocution, interference with other functions of a building, and/or premature degradation of materials.

The model shows a receptacle which allows for safe end user connection of utilization equipment.
