Chapter 2 is titled 'Wiring and Protection' and covers high-level requirements for the installation of electrical distribution systems. The purpose of this chapter is to prevent explosions, fires, electrical shocks and burns, electrocution, interference with other functions of a building, and/or premature degradation of materials, as well as to require minimum electrical supply and distribution.
The model shows a cartridge fuse which prevents an excessive quantity of electricity from overheating the conductors (which would cause the insulation to prematurely degrade).
