Chapter 1 Overview

Chapter 1 is titled 'General' and covers high-level requirements for electrical systems. All the technical language in this code serves to prevent explosions, fires, electrical shocks and burns, electrocution, interference with other functions of a building, and/or premature degradation of materials(for life safety purposes - economics are serendipitous), as well as to require minimum electrical supply and distribution.
