Section R908.6 is titled 'Flashings' and covers the requirements for reusing roof covering assembly flashings. The allowance for reuse of flashings in accordance with the manufacturer's installation instructions and priming of flashing which bituminous materials will be applied to is established. The purpose of this section is to protect the structure from weather.

The model shows a piece of copper flashing which has been primed on the side that will be covered with bituminous material.
