R904.4

Section R904.4 is titled 'Product identification' and covers the requirements for roof covering materials packaging. A requirement for roof covering materials to be packaged with the manufacturer's identification and testing agency labels, both in individual and bulk packaging is established. The purpose of this section is to protect the structure from weather and prevent roof coverings from detaching from the building.

The model shows a bundle of shingles with the manufacturer's name, the testing agency's icon, and a standard which they conform to on the packaging.
