Section R904.1 is titled 'Scope' and covers the requirements for the application of roof coverings and roof assemblies. Requirements to follow this section for the installation of roof covering materials, as well as this chapter, the manufacturer's installation instructions, and section R905 for roof assemblies, as applicable, is established. The purpose of this section is to protect the structure from weather.
