R902 Overview

Section R902 is titled 'Fire Classification' and covers the requirements for fire ratings of roof covering materials. Four subsections cover design, use, and construction as related to fire classification. The purpose of this section is to slow the spread of fire.

The model shows a roof section with several different types of roof coverings which are addressed by this section of the code.
