R703.8.4

Section R703.8.4 is titled 'Anchorage' and covers requirements for wall coverings. The requirement for exterior anchored masonry veneer to be attached to the structure with metal ties installed in a certain manner and in accordance with a table in this code, or if attached through insulation sheathing to a minimum type of wood structural panel, in accordance with another table in this code is established. The purpose of this section is to prevent detachment from the structure.
