Section R703.8.2.1 is titled 'Support by steel angle' and covers requirements for wall coverings. The allowance for the support of anchored stone or masonry veneer by steel angle of a minimum dimension and attached to the structure in a certain manner and in accordance with a figure in this code, for flashing and weep holes to be provided in accordance with a figure in this code, for a minimum airspace in accordance with another section of this code, and a requirement for stops of a minimum size where installed above a roof of a certain pitch is established. The purpose of this section is to prevent detachment from the structure.

The model shows two wall sections with steel angle being attached to the wall which will support masonry veneer - the 1st has an angle iron being installed over a roof with less than a 7:12 pitch; the 2nd has an angle iron with highlighted stops being installed over a roof with greater than a 7:12 pitch.
