R703.7.4

Section R703.7.4 is titled 'Application' and covers requirements for wall coverings. The requirement for each coat of exterior plaster to be kept in a moist condition for a minimum amount of time prior to application of the next coat is established. The purpose of this section is to prevent detachment from the structure. This section has an exception which exempts the requirements of this section where plaster is installed in accordance with a specific standard. The purpose for this exception is to allow for a specific application method which does not need to meet this section's requirements.

The model shows a 3-coat plaster system being installed with the 1st and 2nd coats being kept in a moist condition prior to the application of the next coat.
