Section 703.1.2 is titled 'Wind resistance' and covers requirements for exterior wall coverings. The requirement for wall coverings, backing materials, and attachments to be capable of resisting detachment from wind load, for a specific standard to be used in determining compliance, for specific methods to be used where design analysis is used, and allowance for application to an entire assembly is established. The purpose of this section is to prevent wind damage to the building.
