Section R702.3.1.1 is titled 'Adhesives' and covers the requirements for adhesives and fasteners used in the installation of gypsum board and gypsum panel products. A standard that expandable foam adhesive must conform to, a standard that other types of adhesives must conform to, and a cross-reference to a table which provides data for gypsum board and gypsum panel products supports and fasteners (which are not adhesives) is established. The purpose of this section is to prevent failure of gypsum board assemblies.
