Section R610.5.2 is titled 'Bottom (sole) plate connection' and covers requirements for wall construction. The requirement for structural insulated panels to have a bottom plate of a minimum width, and where supported directly on a foundation, to be done in accordance with a figure and table in this code is established. The purpose of this section is to prevent structural failure.
