Section R610.1 is titled 'General' and covers requirements for wall construction. The allowance for structural insulated panels design plans done in accordance with this section of the code to not require a design professional stamp, unless specifically required by state law is established. The purpose of this section is to prevent structural failure, slow the spread of fire, and allow for prescriptive, unlicensed design of structural insulated panels.
