R610 Overview

Section R610 is titled 'Structural Insulated Panel Wall Construction' and covers the requirements for prefabricated wall assemblies which consist of a foam insulation core with wood structural panel facings glued to the core (commonly referred to by their acronym - SIP). Eight subsections cover a range of use, design, and construction details. The purpose of this section is to prevent structural failure.

The model shows two SIPs and a spline piece used to join the panels together. (Different manufacturers have varying designs for joining panels together.)
