R608.6.4

Section R608.6.4 is titled 'Termination of reinforcement' and covers requirements for wall construction. The requirement for exterior concrete wall reinforcement to terminate in a certain manner in certain locations is established. The purpose of this section is to prevent structural failure. This section has an exception which provides an alternative bending method for horizontal reinforcement around corners. The purpose for this exception is to provide an acceptable alternative which may allow for easier installation.
