R607.10

Section R607.10 is titled 'Placement' and covers requirements for wall construction. The requirement for glass unit masonry panels to have head and bed joints filled with mortar of a specific thickness within an allowed tolerance, and disallowance for furrowing of mortar is established. The purpose of this section is to prevent structural failure.

The model shows a section of a glass block panel being installed with highlighted mortar. The top layer of mortar has been furrowed, which is not allowed per this section of the code for glass unit masonry construction.
