R606.13.3.1

Section R606.13.3.1 is titled 'Ashlar masonry' and covers requirements for wall construction. The requirement for multiple-wythe masonry walls with a facing wythe of ashlar masonry to be bonded together with units uniformly distributed for a minimum percentage of the wall area which extend a minimum distance into the backing wythe is established. The purpose of this section is to prevent structural failure.
