R606.13.1.1

Section R606.13.1.1 is titled 'Solid units' and covers requirements for wall construction. The requirement for solid masonry units of multiple-wythe walls bonded by header units to have a minimum percentage of headers comprise the total surface area which extend a minimum distance into the adjacent wythe, to have a maximum spacing, and for a minimum overlap of adjoining units where they do not extend to the exterior of the adjacent wythe is established. The purpose of this section is to prevent structural failure.
