R603.9.3

Section R603.9.3 is titled 'Structural sheathing fastening' and covers requirements for wall construction. The requirement to fasten sheathing to cold-formed steel framing in accordance with a figure and table in this code, for the fasteners to be of certain types, and for continuously sheathed braced wall lines with an alternative fastener spacing, the allowance for a factor reduction adjustment of sheathing length percentage along with a requirement for bottom track connection factor increase is established. The purpose of this section is to prevent structural failure.
