R602.12.4

Section R602.12.4 is titled 'Number of bracing units' and covers requirements for wall construction. Using the simplified bracing method, the use of a figure and table in this code for determining the minimum number of braced panels, the side of the panel the bracing shall be on, and a cross-reference to another section of this code for distribution of the panels is established. The purpose of this section is to prevent structural failure, and offer a simpler method for the design and construction of wall bracing for buildings that meet specific criteria.
