R602.10.6.5

Section R602.10.6.5 is titled 'Wall bracing for dwellings with stone and masonry veneer in seismic design categories D₀, D₁ and D₂' and covers requirements for wall construction. Where dwellings located in certain seismic zones have stone or masonry veneer, the requirement to provide wall bracing in accordance with this section is established. The purpose of this section is to prevent structural failure.
