Section R602 is titled 'Wood Wall Framing' and covers requirements for walls constructed of wood and wood based products. It is the longest single section in the 2018 IRC, providing prescriptive designs for walls with many details and complexities.

The model shows a section of a lumber wall with a window header and plywood bracing installed; and a separate wall section which is racking due to lateral loading (such as wind) and lack of bracing.
