Section R507.9.1.1 is titled 'Ledger details' and covers requirements for deck ledgers. Minimum size, type, and grade, disallowance from supporting concentrated loads as well as from being supported by stone or masonry veneer is established. The purpose of this section is to prevent structural failure.

The model shows a ledger being supported by a masonry veneer wall with lead anchors and bolts, and supporting a post (concentrated load), which is not allowed per this section of the code.
