R507.5.2

Section R507.5.2 is titled 'Deck beam connection to supports' and covers the requirements for fastening deck beams to their supporting member. The requirement for connections to carry vertical loads to the supporting member and prevent the beam from becoming displaced, a cross-reference to 2 figures which depict allowable connections, requirement for manufactured connectors to be sized to fit the members without unintended manipulation of the connector, and that washers must be used on both ends of through-bolts is established. The purpose of this section is to prevent structural failure.
