R507.2.4

Section R507.2.4 is titled 'Flashing' and covers requirements for deck flashing materials. The type and thickness of material as well as compatibility with materials on the primary structure is established. The purpose of this section is to prevent premature degradation of flashing and adjacent materials.

The model shows a section of flashing which gets installed over the deck ledger and attached to the exterior wall of the house.
