Section R505.1.3 is titled 'Floor trusses' and covers requirements for floor construction. A reference to another code for the design, bracing, and installation; an alternate method for bracing where the primary reference lacks specific details for such, including recommended publications; and disallowance of cutting, notching, or other alterations without an approved design is established. The purpose of this section is to prevent structural failure.
