R504.2.2

Section R504.2.2 is titled 'Moisture barrier' and covers requirements for floor construction. The requirement for wood floors in basements and on ground to have a moisture barrier installed in a specific manner is established. The purpose of this section is to prevent premature degradation.

The model shows a partial foundation, crushed stone base, floor sleepers, and highlighted moisture barrier which goes over the sleepers, but does not extend under the footing plate.
