R404.5.1

Section R404.5.1 is titled 'Design' and covers requirements for foundation construction. The requirement for precast concrete foundations to be designed in accordance with accepted engineering practice, the materials to comply with another section of this code or another standard, and for plans to be prepared by a registered design professional where required by the jurisdiction is established. The purpose of this section is to prevent structural failure.
