R322.2.1

Section R322.2.1 is titled 'Elevation requirements' and covers requirements for flood-resistant construction. A list of zone and construction arrangements which determine the minimum lowest floor elevation is established. The purpose of this section is to limit damage and loss to buildings and structures due to flooding, which are constructed in areas prone to such. This section has an exception which cross-references another section of this code that a specific arrangement must conform to. The purpose of this exception is to allow a specific arrangement to follow different requirements.
