R322.1.4.1

Section R322.1.4.1 is titled 'Determination of design flood elevations' and covers requirements for flood-resistant construction. Where the design flood elevations are not specified, allowance for the building official to require determination to be done by one of two methods is established. The purpose of this section is to limit damage and loss to buildings and structures due to flooding, which are constructed in areas prone to such.
