Section R318.1 is titled 'Subterranean termite control methods' and covers requirements for protecting a building from termite damage. The requirement to protect a building from termites, in areas subject to termite damage as determined by a cross-referenced table, by one of the listed methods is established. The purpose of this section is to prevent termite damage.

The model shows one type of termite which typically range in size from 1/8 to 1/2" in length.
