R316.5.9

Section R316.5.9 is titled 'Interior trim' and covers requirements for foam plastics. The allowance for exemption from another section of this code which requires a thermal barrier between foam plastic insulation and the interior of a dwelling, when foam plastic is used as interior trim under certain specific conditions and arrangements is established. The purpose of this section is to allow for foam plastics as interior trim with alternative protection methods.
