R316.5.5

Section R316.5.5 is titled 'Foam-filled exterior doors' and covers requirements for foam plastics. The allowance for exemption from other sections of this code which require a thermal barrier between foam plastic insulation and the interior of a dwelling, and for foam plastic to have maximum flame spread and smoke-developed indexes is established. The purpose of this section is to allow for untested foam plastics in exterior door assemblies.
