R310.2.5

Section R310.2.5 is titled 'Replacement windows' and covers requirements for providing secondary exiting. Replacement windows in existing wall openings meeting the listed requirements being exempt from certain sections of this code is established. The purpose of this section is to clarify that section 310 is not intending for an existing exterior wall opening to be reframed, nor for window operating styles to be changed when replacing windows.
