Section R308 is titled 'Glazing' and covers requirements for glass safety. Methods for labeling, testing standards, hazardous location designation, and specific details for louvered windows, jalousies, site-built windows, skylights, and sloped glazing is established. The purpose of this section is to reduce the severity of injuries from breaking glass.

The model shows a projectile breaking a piece of glass which does not conform to any of the testing standards required by this section. The large, jagged broken pieces of glass pose a much greater risk of danger versus safety glazing which would prevent such shards from forming.
