R302.5.3

Section R302.5.3 is titled 'Other penetrations' and covers the requirements for penetrations other than ducts which penetrate an assembly that separates an attached garage from a dwelling. A cross-reference to another section of this code which penetrations, other than ducts of a dwelling/garage separation specified in another section of this code, must comply with is established. The purpose of this section is to slow the spread of fire, heat, smoke, and vehicle exhaust through an assembly that separates an attached garage from a dwelling.
