R302.10.4

Section R302.10.4 is titled 'Exposed attic insulation' and covers requirements for burning characteristics of insulation. A minimum critical radiant flux for exposed attic floor insulation is established. The purpose of this section is to limit attic floor insulation materials to those which have a minimum level of resistance to catching on fire.

The model shows a partial attic area with two different types of exposed insulation.
