R301.2.2.7

Section R301.2.2.7 is titled 'Height limitations' and covers requirements for structural seismic design. Limitations on number of stories above grade plane dependent on the type of construction, and clarification that mezzanines are not considered stories is established. The purpose of this section is to prevent structural failure.

The model shows a representation of the number of stories for wood-framed, cold-formed steel-framed, and structural insulated panel construction. The second story of each contains a mezzanine which does not count as a separate story.
