R301.2.2.6

Section R301.2.2.6 is titled 'Irregular buildings' and covers requirements for structural seismic design. Clarification that the seismic provisions of this code are not intended for use with irregularly shaped buildings, that such buildings must be designed in accordance with accepted engineering practice, that portions of the building that are regular may use this code in their design, and a list of construction arrangements which would be considered irregular is established. The purpose of this section is to prevent structural failure.
