G2409 Overview

Section G2409 is titled 'Clearance Reduction' and covers requirements for fuel gas systems. The purpose of this section is to mandate requirements for a separation distance between fuel gas system components and combustible construction with a non-combustible assembly installed between them.

The model shows a partial combustible wall section, some with protection between it and a vent pipe, and some without protection. The distance of the vent pipe from the combustible wall is reduced where compliant protection is installed between the combustible studs and the vent pipe.
