G2406.2

Section G2406.2 is titled 'Prohibited Locations' and covers the requirements for keeping appliances separated from specific types of rooms. The purpose of this section is to avoid the potential for people who are asleep from being in rooms where oxygen may become depleted due to combustion; avoid rooms where oxygen may not be able to be replenished at the same rate it is used for combustion; and avoid rooms where the appliance would be subject to excessive moisture which could interfere with its safe operation as well as cause premature degradation.

The model shows a room which contains a natural gas furnace, water closet, and vanity, which is not compliant with this section.
