N1110 Overview

Section N1110 is titled 'Repairs' and covers requirements for energy efficiency of existing buildings. Allowances for exempting existing buildings which are being repaired, from this chapter's requirements is established. The purpose of this section is to clarify exemptions for existing buildings which are being repaired, from the energy efficiency requirements of this chapter, (though the repairs must conform to the code under which the element being repaired was lastly constructed).

The model shows a simple grayscale Victorian-style dwelling to represent an older, existing building, with areas highlighted which are being repaired, that are not required to comply with the energy efficiency requirements of this chapter.
