N1103.10.3

Section N1103.10.3 is titled 'Covers' and provides requirements for energy efficiency of pools and permanent spas. A requirement for a heated pool or permanent spa to have a specific type of cover is established. The purpose of this section is to mandate requirements for heated pool and permanent spa energy efficiency. This section has an exception which exempts the cover where a certain amount of the energy comes from specific types of sources. The purpose for this exception is to offset construction costs where the energy being generated for heat is inherently energy efficient.
