N1102.3.3

Section N1102.3.3 is titled 'Glazed fenestration exemption' and covers requirements for energy efficiency. The allowance for a maximum glazed fenestration area per dwelling unit to be exempt from the U-factor and solar heat gain coefficient requirements of another section of this code, and clarification that this exemption may not be used in conjunction with the U-factor and total UA alternative compliance methods is established. The purpose of this section is to allow for the use of glazed fenestration manufactured before current energy code rating requirements, site built windows, or other specialty fenestration.
