N1102.2.8

Section N1102.2.8 is titled 'Floors' and covers requirements for energy efficiency. The location of insulation within a floor cavity is established. The purpose of this section is to assure the building thermal envelope is created at the intended location within a floor assembly. This section has an exception which allows for an alternative arrangement of cavity insulation where the assembly uses sheathing or continuous insulation on the bottom. The purpose for this exception is to allow for a practical alternative.
