N1102.2.13

Section N1102.2.13 is titled 'Sunroom insulation' and covers requirements for energy efficiency. The clarification that sunrooms must meet the insulation requirements of this chapter is established. The purpose of this section is to clarify that conditioned sunrooms are not exempt from the energy efficiency requirements of this chapter. This section has an exception which allows thermally isolated conditioned sunrooms to have reduced ceiling and wall R-values. The purpose of this exception is to allow for sunrooms that use less materials for their construction, provided excessive energy waste will not occur.
