Chapter 11 is titled 'Energy Efficiency' and covers the design and construction of structures with the purpose of promoting efficient energy use through:
• Installation of materials with higher thermal resistance.
• Management of solar heat gain.
• Reduction of unintended conditioned air leakage.
• Requiring appliances and lighting fixture lamps to meet energy efficiency standards.
• System controls, such as programmable thermostats, to provide occupants the ability to set automatic energy use reduction.
