Chapter 6 Overview

Chapter 6 is titled 'Duct Systems' and covers both enclosed and open area systems for controlled air movement within a building, except where specifically covered by chapters 5 or 7. The purpose of this chapter is to provide healthy breathing air, efficient and balanced distribution of conditioned air, duct and register damage protection, weather protection, and to detect and slow the spread of fire and smoke within a building.
