Chapter 5 Overview

Chapter 5 is titled 'Exhaust Systems' and covers the removal of several types of air particulates from the building for the purpose of providing healthy breathing air to the occupants and preventing fires. This chapter, with the exception of clothes dryers, does not cover the removal of the products of combustion from appliances, chimneys, fireplaces, boilers, and water heaters, which are covered in different chapters.
